Grateful Bunch Basket

16-APR-Grateful-Bunch-Basket

I might have missed May Day by one day but Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I think these baskets would be the cutest filled with treats to give to the mothers in your life!  I used one of my favorite color collections from Stampin’ Up!; the Brights Collection.  Tempting Turquoise and Melon Mambo are such fun colors and the Whisper White band around the top of the baskets really make the colors pop.

The little flowers on the basket are what make the baskets so sweet.  I used the Grateful Bunch Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up! along with the Blossom Bunch Punch.  The two are offered in a bundle until May 31st with a 15% savings.

The base of the basket is made using the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits and the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. Here are the project dimensions for the basket.  Make sure to watch my video tutorial below to see the adjustments I made to create the basket.

Project Dimensions:

  • 9″ x 6″ Brights Collection Designer Series Paper
  • 7-1/2″ x 1/2″ Brights Collection Designer Series Paper
  • 11″ x 1/2″ Whisper White Cardstock
  • 7-1/2″ x 1/2″ Whisper White Cardstock
  • 2 pieces Whisper White Cardstock 3-1/4″ x 2-1/2″ Each

Grateful Bunch Card

Grateful-Bunch-Card There is an acronym in the crafting world – C.A.S.E. – which stands for “Copy And Share Everything”.  Well I saw this card while at On-Stage Live this month and knew I had to CASE it!  I tweaked mine a little but the original design was created by a Stampin’ Up! Concept Artist.  I hope they don’t mind but isn’t imitation the sincerest form of flattery?

The card uses the Grateful Bunch stamp set along with the coordinating Blossom Bunch Punch.  The stamp set and punch are sold separately but there is a 15% savings right now if you purchase the stamp set & punch bundle.  The punch does all the work for you so it’s a fairly easy card to make.  I love the sweet little butterflies and lace image not to mention the touch of Venetian Crochet Trim.  The Venetian Crochet Trim is one of the “while supplies last” items on the Stampin’ Up! Retiring List that I am going to miss a lot! See a complete list of retiring items on my blog post HERE.

This card uses just one color of card stock; Very Vanilla.  The card base is an 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece and the flower image is stamped onto a 4″ x 2-1/2″ piece of card stock.  The sentiment is stamped onto a 3-1/2″ x 1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  There is a quick tip on how I flagged the sentiment and I also show a masking technique for this card on the video below so make sure  you check it out.

Happy Stamping Everyone!

Stampin’ Up! Retiring Lists

image

It’s that time again: Stampin’ Up is getting ready to retire stamps and accessories from both the annual and occasions catalogs. As sad as it is to see these products go, there’s still time for you to get them. Plus, retiring products have discounts up to 50% off! What an amazing opportunity to get these products before they’re gone.

I think the stamp set I’m most sorry to see go is A Dozen Thoughts.  It’s a set full of great sentiments that I use all the time. The “everything else” I think I’ll miss most is the Bird Builder Punch.  Here’s a Throwback Thursday card that I made using the punch. The bird wings were used for the flower petals and the leaves for the flower stems.  It’s such a fun punch and I’m so glad I have it in my craft studio!

Spring-Flowers

Retiring products are only available until May 31st or “While Supplies Last” so if you have had your eye on any of these products I would suggest you not wait to order.

You may view all retiring products by clicking on the links below:

Big News!

Big-News-Fancy-Fold-CardBig-News-Fancy-Fold-Card-2

Today I’m sharing a sweet little card that is super simple to make but because of a different fold appears a little fancy.  I had a bit of space to fill on the card front so I used the Big News Stamp Set.  Big News is full of great sentiments for many occasions like birthday, new baby, wedding/anniversary, and congratulations.  It’ so nice to own a stamp set that is versatile and can be used for many occasions and this one sure fits the bill.

Isn’t the stamped candle image peeking out from the inside of the card cute?  And it ties in beautifully with the three candles I punched out using the new Party Punch Pack on the card front.  Always love it when a plan comes together – lol!

If you would like to make a fancy fold card like this all you need is a piece of card stock that measures 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ then score it at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4″.  I used Watermelon Wonder Card Stock.  The piece of Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper is 5-1/4″ x 1-7/8″ and the oval was cut from a 5″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White Thick card stock.  For the inside of the card I used a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White card stock for the inside of the card.

Here is a quick video demonstrating how I made this simple card:

Floral Wings Easter Basket

16-MAR-Floral-Wings-Easter-BasketWe will be hosting 10 for Easter dinner this Sunday and I have been busy this week preparing.  One of my favorite things to do for holiday dinners is to set a fun table and this Easter I wanted to place a basket filled with sweets at each place setting.  My time is short so I needed something quick and easy and came up with these cuties.  I’m really happy with how they turned out and think they scream, “Spring is finally here!”.   They would also make great favors for all the upcoming Spring events; baby showers, bridal showers, May Day, and Mother’s Day to name a few.

I was able to make three baskets from one sheet of 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and they were super simple to put together.  The basket is made from a piece of 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and the handle is a 6″ x 3/4″ piece of Designer Series Paper.  I used a 4″ x 3″ piece of Whisper White card stock to stamp the butterfly image onto and the lacy butterfly was cut from a 2-1/2″ x 2″ piece of Vellum.  Here is a video I created to show you how the baskets are made.  Enjoy!

Envelope Punch Board Treat Box

16-FEB Env Punch Board Treat Box

An envelope is an envelope is an envelope except when it isn’t.  I made this cute little treat box using the Envelope Punch Board by Stampin’ Up!  I love using the Envelope Punch Board to create coordinating envelopes in any and all sizes for my card projects but I probably use it more often for 3-D paper projects.  Take a browse around Pinterest and you will see a great variety of ideas using the Envelope Punch Board.  It’s a great addition to any craft room and it’s on sale thru February 22, 2016.

The box is pretty simple to put together; just a few folds here and a few trims there.  If you’re a visual learner like me though, this quick video tutorial will be helpful.  And when you’re finished viewing take a minute to check out all the Weekly Deals below.

Honeycomb Happiness Card

16-FEB Honeycomb Happiness Card_edited-1My card today is a clean, simple card that is a breeze to make.  We made a version of this card in my February Fun Card Class and it received the most, “this is my favorite” comments so I thought I would share it today.

I started with a Whisper White card base then added a simple background layer using a small print paper from the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Stack.  The stamp set I used for this card is the Honeycomb Happiness Wood-Mount Stamp Set, an exclusive Sale-a-Bration set that can be had for FREE with a $50 Stampin’ Up! purchase.  This set pairs with the sweet Honeycomb Embellishments.

You know I always have to add a little bling so I finished the card off with a couple of rhinestone embellished butterflies that were cut out with the Bold Butterflies Framelits using the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.

A complete listing of supplies used in today’s card is below.  Subscribers to my newsletter will be receiving a full-color PDF project sheet for this card in their in-boxes this week so if you do not currently subscribe why not sign-up today!

Bloomin’ Love

IMG_1375

So it’s no secret that the majority of us are smack-dab in the middle of a very long, dark and cold winter.  I’m literally huddled over my space heater as I type this post.  There is certainly not a bud or bloom in sight so why not distract ourselves from the harshness of it all and let a little love bloom?

Romantic love is nice if you can get it but I’m thinking more along the lines of being a kinder, gentler people.  I’m suggesting we throw a little Bloomin’ Love around.

My Bloomin’ Love project tutorial today is perfect for that purpose.  What better way to put a smile on someone’s face than with a pretty box that’s filled with chocolate?  Who wouldn’t love receiving one of these cute little favors?  Sneak them onto your co-workers’ desks, tuck them into a friend’s purse when she’s not looking, leave one in the mailbox for your letter carrier or set them at each place-setting during your family meal.

Check out the video tutorial below and let me know if you make any and how you used them to brighten someone’s day!

Wicked Good Wreaths

Changing up a few things around my home with the seasons is something I enjoy doing but without a lot of time I keep it simple.  One of the easiest ways to update home decor with the changing seasons is with wreaths. Take one down and replace with another – even I have time for that.  And  what is better than a beautiful home decor piece?  Saying, “I made that” to your family and friends!

The Fancy option In my Fun & Fancy Class yesterday was the Season to Season Wreath Project Kit.  I was a little worried that our class time would not be adequate to finish the wreath but it was surprisingly easy to put together and my guests left with completed wreaths.  Happy guests and a big sigh of relief from me!

The wreath is so pretty with a soft, vintage feel and will look great wherever I decide to place it.  The finished size is pretty substantial – about 15″.  And – bonus – it is good to go until New Year’s because of the three interchangeable banners; Halloween theme, Autumn/Thanksgiving theme and Christmas theme.  Mine is all decorated for Halloween and looks great hanging on the $5 wreath holder I made last Fall.  See instructions for that HERE

Another fun option for Halloween decorating is the Frightful Wreath Simply Created Kit. It is currently on the Clearance Rack while supplies last.  The coordinating stamp set is not available but the Happy Haunting sentiment from the Cheer All Year Stamp Set would substitute in great!

Frightful-Wreath-on-Stand

I would love to hear from you about your seasonal decorating!  Do you change it up a little or a lot or not at all?  Do you decorate for Halloween?  Leave a comment and let me know.  Thanks!

A Lovely Thank-You

10-15-Front-Portch-Mums

It’s starting to get chilly here in my part of the world and feeling like Fall.  The cooler weather put me in the mood to plant some mums in my front porch pots and I even bought a pumpkin to plop in the middle of them.  I love the deep, rich colors of fall don’t you?

Just like red and green say, “Christmas” the deeper yellows, oranges and reds say, “Autumn”.  Today’s card uses those colors along with some rustic elements making it a great card to send this time of year.  I used the thank-you sentiment from the A Whole Lot of Lovely stamp set but by changing up the sentiment this card would work for any occasion.  It’s also a very neutral card that any man or woman would enjoy receiving.

My favorite parts of this card are the Designer Series Paper – it’s from the Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper collection, a Christmas paper – always love products that do double duty.  Also can’t stand how cute that little wooden acorn is!

Cheer All Year – Really!

image

The card I’m sharing with you today was created by the Stampin’ Up! Creative Design Team.  It uses the Cheer All Year stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog and gives your projects some seasonal flair. At first look this is a holiday stamp set but as this card shows, you don’t have to put it away at the end of the year.  Just a simple “Hello” sentiment makes this a fun feathery card you can share all year long!  My favorite thing . . . the gold embossed feather tip!
